How Much Charters CostIn collaboration with In the Public Interest this video humanizes a first-of-its-kind academic study that shows the fiscal impact rampant charter school growth has had on California school districts. Teachers, parents, and administrators express their concerns on charter growth in their own communities. ------------------------------ The study can be found @ http://www.howmuchcharterscost.org

CB Sessions: Marc CaryFor the inaugural edition of CB Sessions, Cary pulled together a group of DC musicians from across generations and genres. He performs a reworked version of "The Team" (which he co-wrote with Alan Palmer), joined by the former Trouble Funk lead talker Iceberg Slim. Mixed in are Cary's comments about the influence of go-go on his jazz career.Paul Bothwell for CapitalBop

2014 DC Jazz Loft SeriesCapitalBop hosted three nights of experimental, exhilarating music at the 2014 DC Jazz Festival, featuring a handful of the country's most innovative improvisers. The Washington City Paper wrote that our programming "may have outdone" everything else at the festival (bit.ly/1pK3HJb).
2015 DC Jazz Loft Series at the Hecht WarehouseCapitalBop took over an empty building in the Hecht Warehouse District this past June, and turned it into the baddest pop-up venue you've ever seen, for three nights only. Thundercat brought down the house at a packed show; there was a daylong celebration of the legendary AACM, complete with a master class for young people; and on the festival's opening night three bands from Baltimore offered a smorgasbord of modern jazz sounds.Paul Bothwell for CapitalBop
